Amazed

Troy and i are getting a little overwhelmed with the number of RSVP's we've received thus far. who knew that people would want to come and see me get married? for some of you who may not know this - i tried to drag Troy to vegas to get hitched, but he refused because he wanted a church wedding. he is really to thank for this glorious event. he mentioned that my family needs the wedding - and one day when i look back i will appreciate it. so i'm taking him at his word, and hoping one day when i look back i'll be overtaken with happy, warm thoughts of this wonderful union of man and his crazy wife.

so what do i have planned for my last weekend of singleness? i'm going to help Troy's mom move into her new house. the house is lovely and i'm excited for her. we are going to have a great time in that house - creating many memories. i'm grateful that she has been willing to open up her new house for Troy and i to have our georgian reception there on the 17th. if ya'll don't have anything to do on the 17th, please come down to lake jackson and celebrate with us. the party is from 3pm to 8ish. and just to cover my basis, if anyone doesn't have anything to do on the 10th, next saturday, the wedding is gonna be at 2 at the church at the gate on west 26th street. this goes for anyone who feels they should have received an invitation but they've not gotten one yet... please come. if you have friends whom you want to invite - bring them too. the church holds 400 and so far we're doing a good job getting those seats filled. we'll be serving chicken and pork loin sandwiches and mints and who knows what else.

Troy and i haven't registered anywhere because we pretty much have everything we need and then some. (so we keep mentioning target gift cards or cash for a mission trip.) we'll be combining all his stuff and all my stuff into my apartment. he has been living in a 3 bedroom house with a garage. we are at the place where his big screen tv (aka 'man toy') comes to my place - and my small, old school tv which only has coaxial connectors goes to the extra bedroom. crazy. that's where we'll be next week. joy.

had i mentioned that i'm getting a little overwhelmed with how many people are planning on attending this wedding?

today is the first day that i've ever had heartburn. guess i'm getting old. 31. i'm not enjoying this condition very much.

i think we should start taking bets to see when my parent will have a breakdown. or, perhaps ya'll should start taking bets to see if i'm gonna have a meltdown. my friends at work think that i'll lose it on friday afternoon before the rehearsal. so far i've not been nervous and anxious or any of that. (tho i've been a little brain dead at work - just ask patsy... she's been about ready to knock some sense into me for the last couple of weeks.) then again, why should i be nervious? i've had the greatest people working out all the details for me. i've hardly had to do anything for this wedding it's been wonderful.

so again, to anyone who may feel left out, please know you are invited to our wedding events.

I love to read your BLOG! I can just see your face and hear the excitement in your voice as I read the thoughts you have.
You'll never know how happy I am for you. Sorry we can not be there for the big day BUT, knowing someone who has been with you every step of the way keeps me posted. I hope you can rest up this last week being single. You are in for a "wild ride" as Toad would say.
